Buddha Love
Mixed Media on Canvas | 12x12 in
This piece is a fusion of faith, language, and personal evolution—an exploration of the Buddha’s essence intertwined with Hebrew letters spelling love. My journey with spirituality began in deep contrast. When I first embraced Nichiren Buddhism, my father disapproved, forcing me to choose between family and faith. I chose my faith, setting me on an unexpected path—one that led me to move from California to Israel in 2017 as a Buddhist. The paradox still makes me laugh.
During that time, chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo and engaging in a community dedicated to awakening infinite potential brought me immense joy. Yet, I also wrestled with the tension between my Jewish roots and my evolving beliefs. Like a rose, this piece carries the wisdom of unwavering existence. A rose never questions what it is; it does not seek permission to bloom or hesitate in its unfolding. It simply is.
Buddha Love is a reflection of that seeking—a bridge between traditions, a symbol of resilience, and a reminder that love is the ultimate truth, beyond boundaries or labels.
